Alongside the Acer Liquid X1 and Acer Iconia Tab 8, Acer has also announced a new entry level android smartphone, the Acer Liquid Z200 aimed at first-time smartphone users.
The Acer Liquid Z200 features a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) resolution display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572M processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with microSD expansion slot, 2MP rear camera with fixed focus and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
Connectivity options include: 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack and the device is powered by a 1300mAh battery.
The aim behind the Liquid Z200 is to create feature phone to rival the Motorola Moto E, but the latter is far ahead of the Liquid Z200 in terms of specs.
“Designed for users of all ages with tight budget or looking to purchase a secondary or a vacation device, this 4-inch WVGA display entry smartphone with optional Dual-SIM make it the ideal compact colorful easy-to-use Android 4.4 (KitKat) smartphone. In addition, an immersive sound experience is provided via DTS Studio Sound available previously only on Acer mainstream smartphones,” Acer noted in a press release.

The Acer Liquid Z200 is priced at 2990 Roubles (around N14,000 in Naira) in Russia, would be available by Q3 this year. The Liquid Z200 is expected in 5 colour variants – Hot pink, Sky Blue, Titanium Black, Essential White and Bright Yellow.
