Acer has launched the Chromebook 13, the first Chrome-OS based laptop to sport the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and the company’s first Chrome OS device with 13.3-inch display.
The Acer Chromebook 13 would be available in two screen variants – a 1366 x 768-pixel screen with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage; and a full-HD 1920 x 1080 screen with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
As mentioned above the Acer Chromebook 13 is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra K1 and the device sports a white plastic chasis, a large trackpad and a black full size keyboard. The chromebook is fanless (it operates in decorum/silently), weighs 1.5Kg and measures 18mm in thickness. Other specifications include – 2×2 MIMO Antennae, two USB 3.0 ports, a HDMI port, HD Webcam, microphone, 802.11ac WiFi and two built-in stereo speakers.
The Acer Chromebook 13 is already available for pre-order from the company in the US first followed by European, North American and Asia Pacific markets; but shipments are slated for September.
The price tag for both versions of the Chromebook 13 are – $279 (N46,000 in Naira) for the lower resolution (1366 x 768 pixel) with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage; and the higher resolution (full-HD 1920 x 1080) with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for $299 (N49,000 in Naira).
