Ahead of the Computex Trade Fair 2014 coming up next week in Taiwan, Acer has announced the Acer Iconia Tab 8 which would be showcased at the event.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 features a 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), anti fingerprint coating and Zero Air Gap technology. Under the hood, it is powered by a Intel Atom Quad-core Z3745 Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of Internal storage (expandable with micro SD card support) and runs on Android 4.4 Kit Kat OS.
The Acer Iconia Tab 8 sports a 5-megapixels rear facing camera and a 2-megapixels front facing camera for selfies as well as video chats. Connectivity options on the Iconia Tab 8 includes GPS,Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The device has front facing Dual Speaker and lasts up to 7.5 hours of battery life.
The tablets also features Acer Touch WakeApp which helps users quickly wake up the Iconia Tab 8 with touch gesture. And also Acer’s PC feature BYOC (Build Your Own Cloud) which let users build their own cloud on their devices.
It is expected to be available by the third quarter of the year in European markets, with a starting price of €199 (N45,000 in Naira).
