Recap: Acer Leap Ware Fitness Smartwatch Costs $139

Back in April, Taiwanese company, Acer announced the launch of its smart fitness watch – the Acer ‎Leap Ware. This sleek IPX7-certified (water resistant) smartwatch allows the user manage personal fitness goals and stay connected to friends & family. It is compatible with smartphones running Android 5.0+ and iOS 8.0+ via the Acer Liquid Life app.

Housed in a simply-designed polished stainless steel circular frame, the Acer Leap Ware is loaded with a number of fitness and wellness features that promotes a healthy lifestyle. It has a 42 mm face with Corning Gorilla Glass SR+, interchangeable watch bands in Blue and Brown colours, and boasts 3 – 5 days of battery life on a single charge.

It also packs a MediaTek MT2523 chipset, MT2511 bio-sensing chip, built-in LED light, and comes equipped with an array of sensors with advanced algorithms, it can monitor heart rate, stamina, stress/fatigue levels, and exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays.

The Acer Leap Ware will land in North America in July for (US$ 139) in July and in EMEA regions by Q3 2017 for EUR 139. It will go on sale in Taiwan by August starting at NT$ 4,990.

PS: Acer is also releasing special edition units of the Leap Ware (13,000 of them) in partnership with Mediatek and Taiwan’s Easycard for the ‎2017 Universiade Taipei games to be held in August. It will be used exclusively by Athletes and Staff.‎
