Acer has shown off a new smartphone at the company’s New York Press conference. The device in question is the Acer Liquid X2 which comes with Triple-SiM (that’s three SIM slots) and could be said to borrow a lot from the Xperia Line of smartphone from Sony in-terms of design.
Acer didn’t unveil full details about the smartphone but we know it would sport a 5.5-inch display (resolution unknown), powered by an unnamed 64-bit octa-core processor, 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture on the front and rear and is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
The Acer Liquid X2 is said to run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with the company’s UI ontop. The company didn’t reveal the rest of the specification but it showcased a Quick Touch flip case for the X2 which allows it access music controls, weather and other functions without opening the flip cover.
This is not the first Triple SIM smartphone from Acer, the company has the Acer Liquid E700 which is lesser specced. The Liquid X2 would be available first in Asia in Brown, Blue, Red and White colour options.
The company also announced the Acer Liquid M220 would be available in the US via Microsoft Store for a price tag around $79.99 starting June. The Liquid M220 is said to be Windows 10 OS ready, currently runs Windows Phone 8.1, a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 8GB space of internal storage and 1300mAh battery.
