Acer has officially announced the world’s first ultra-wide HD laser gaming projector – the Acer Predator Z850. Thanks to replicating vivid images and ultra wide images, the new entrant to the company’s Predator line costs a hefty US$5000 price tag and is not only ideal for gaming, it can also be used for LAN parties.
The Acer Predator Z850 beams images up to 120-inches from distances as short as 18.5 inches from the screen or wall. It sports 24:9 ultra wide HD resolution (1920 x 720) and the advanced laser diode used boasts of 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 3000 lumens which will last up to 30,000 hours. Acer’s ColorBoost3D and ColorSafe II improves colour performances and colour decay.
The gaming projector comes with a number of port on the back including 2 x VGA inputs, a RSA input and 2 x HDMI but skips on DisplayPort connectors. There is an option to pair with a wireless HD kit to enable 1080p lossless wireless streaming and staying clutter-free from wires.
Measuring 96.52 x 383.54 x 309.88 mm in dimensions and weighing in at 5.488kg; the Acer Predator Z850 also includes a fan for keeping internal conditions cool, measuring 33 dBA in standard mode and 29 dBA in ECO mode.
