ACER has announced its new Travelmate X3 notebook series designed for small businesses and professionals. The svelte looking Acer TravelMate X3 (or preferably Acer TravelMate X349) brings to the core all the Windows 10 features including your digital personal assistant – Cortana, secure login via Windows Hello and access to the Windows store.
Packed in a sleek all-aluminium chassis with brushed metal finish, the Acer TravelMate X3 sports a 14-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD IPS display, 6th-Gen Intel Core processor, up to 8GB DDR4 RAM, up to 512GB SSDs and promises up to 10 hours battery life. It measures less than 18 mm thick, weighs about 1.53kg and ships with Windows 10 Pro.
The notebook has an integrated touch fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello Support and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip for hardware based protection for encryption keys and password. It is equipped with the USB Type-C port and comes pre-loaded Acer ProShield Manager and Acer Office Manager.
The Acer TravelMate X349 boast a LED backlit and chiclet-style keyboard; 720p HDR Webcam, Skype for Business and fine-tuned speakers and microphones. Thanks to an optional Acer USB Type-C Dock (sold separately) the notebook turns into a workstation and connects up to two 4K displays.
In terms of pricing, the TravelMate X349 will be available in the EMEA and China in September with prices starting at €480 and CNY 5,999 respectively. It will arrive in North America in October for a price tag starting $649.99.
The notebook will be on display at Acer’s booth at the 2016 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), held from July 10 to 14 in Toronto, Canada.
