Affordable NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 is the Ultimate Android tablet for Gamers

NVIDIA has announced a new Android tablet for Gamers – the NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1. The tablet has similar features and specs with the original Nvidia Shield tablet but measures have been taken to keep the price competitive and affordable.

The NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 has nearly the same design as it’s predecessor with the ports, camera and buttons all in the same place. The difference is the glossy black lettering of the Shield logo has been replaced with one with shinning metal and the speakers are now covered with rubberized grip surface. 

The tablet sports the same 8-inch FHD IPS LCD display, powered by the still powerful 2.2GHz Quad-core Tegra K1 processor with 192-core NVIDIA Kepler GPU, 2GB RAM and 5MP/5MP camera combo on the front and rear. It currently runs Android Lollipop OS but should receive the upgrade to Android Marshmallow before the end of the year.

Talking about measures to keep the price of the Shield tablet K1 down; the tablet package box now contains the tablet only. The adapter, charger, built-in stylus plus the slot holding it and micro USB cable have all been excluded. 

Listed accessories for the NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 includes – ShieldDirect Stylus 2 ($19.99), optional magnetic keyboard cover ($39.99) and the Shield Controller ($59.99). The tablet is available in 16GB Wi-Fi model and costs $199.99.
