Just days after the launch of the Alcatel 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone, TCL communication has announced the Alcatel 5V. The latest entrant to the Alcatel 5 series has the line’s FullView 19:9 display, premium body design and AI-powered pro-level camera features.
The Alcatel 5V has a notched 6.2-inch HD+ FullView display with 88% screen-to-body ratio and 2.5D curved Dragontrail glass covering, and uses both facial recognition (Face Key) and fingerprint sensor to unlock the device, take selfies, launch selected apps and secure sensitive information.
The smartphone packs the the Mediatek Helio P22 (MT6762) octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD). It comes pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS and power is supplied by a 4,000mAh battery with 5V/2A charger.
The Alcatel 5V has a dual rear camera setup which includes 12MP (f/2.2) + 2MP (f/2.4) sensor with dual-tone LED flash and EIS. The camera software has been enhanced with AI to delver features such as Real-time AI scene detection, burst shot, HDR, real-time bokeh and more.
The smartphone has a 8MP selfie camera with f/2.8 aperture and comes fully integrated with Google Lens. This feature uses the phone’s camera to identify objects, and give real time information about the objects. There are also recurring features such as face beautification and Social Mode (Instant Collage, Photo Booth & Easy Share).
