Alcatel (owned by China’s TCL corporation), unveiled two new smartphones in the Idol series – the Idol 4 and Idol 4S at the MWC 2016. However, the two devices released are part of a quartet which are meant to go official in 2016. The two other devices are the Alcatel Idol 4 Pro with Windows 10 Mobile & Alcatel Idol 4 Mini with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Alcatel Idol 4 Pro has the same exterior as the Idol 4S but packs more power and features whilst also running Windows 10 Mobile. It sports a 5.5-inch FHD display, powered by the qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space.
The Idol 4 Pro packs a front facing 8-megapixel camera and rear facing 21-megapixel camera, supports Window 10’s Continuum feature and a fingerprint scanner on the rear. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The 5-inch sized Alcatel Idol 4 Mini has a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and is powered by either the quad-core Mediatek MT6738 or octa-core Mediatek MT6750 processor which goes along with varying memory (1GB, 2GB or 3GB RAM) and internal storage options (8GB, 16GB or 32GB ROM).
The rest of the specs includes the home button which doubles as the fingerprint scanner, front facing 5-megapixels camera, rear facing 13-megapixels camera with LED flash and a 2400mAh battery.
