Alcatel has pulled the curtains off its upcoming phablet, the Alcatel One Touch Flash (6042D) in a special event in Thailand. The company apparently sees the device as a perfect competition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo.
The Alcatel One Touch Flash features a 5.5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display, powered by an octa-core 1.4GHz MediaTek MTK6592M processor, 1GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory and a microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB). There’s a 13 MP autofocus camera with LED flash on the rear, and a 5 MP front-facing camera for Selfies and video calls. Connectivity options on the Alcatel One Touch Flash includes GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi but no 4G LTE support. The device also features Hotknot, MediaTek’s equivalent to the NFC.
The Alcatel One Touch Flash measures 152.1 x 76.2 x 8.1 mm and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and powered by a 3200mAh. The device is expected to be announced on September 8 along with pricing and availability details.
