Alcatel OneTouch and Cyanogen has announced the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ would not be seeing a release date. The TCL-backed company’s phablet sized device running Cyanogen OS was expected to be selling in Alcatel stores by Q2 2015.
Alcatel OneTouch and Cyanogen issued a short joint statement which has the approval of the Senior Vice President of North America for ALCATEL ONETOUCH, Steve Cistulli and Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships and Distribution for Cyanogen, Vikram Natarajan.
Both companies has decided to mutually forgo the OneTouch Hero 2+ phablet highlighting the fact that there is no clear path for the Android 5.1 update. However, Alcatel OneTouch maintains it is still interested in making a device running Cyanogen OS would issue an announcement when any is due.
The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ was announced at the MWC 2015 earlier this year building on the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2 and also comes with a stylus support. The device has 6-inch display size with FHD resolution, 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6952 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB (10.5GB user avaialable) space of internal storage.
The rest of the OneTouch Hero 2+ specs includes – 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE support, Aluminium body build, 7.9mm thin, weighs 170 grams, NFC, Cyanogen OS and 3100mAh.
