Alcatel OneTouch has launched the Alcatel OneTouch Watch in India; the smartwatch is available exclusively from Flipkart for a price tag of Rs 7999 ($120/€106). It is available in two combined colours – the Sporty Dark Red options & the Volcano black and White option.
Announced back at the CES 2015 in January, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch uses a companion app and Bluetooth 4.0 on the smartphone to ensure compatibility with Android (Android 4.3 or later) and iOS (iOS 7 or later) phones. Insead of Android Wear OS, it runs a proprietary OS developed by the company.
The smartwatch sports a 1.22-inch circular TFT touchscreen display with 240 x 240 pixels resolution and oleophobic coating; the watch face has a 41.8mm diameter and the watch itself is 10.5mm thick. There is IP67 certification for Dust and Water resistance and a STM429 chipset.
With sensors options like Accelerometer, Altimeter, e-Compass, Gyro and Heart rate sensor onboard, the Alcatel OneTouch Watch can perform actions including tracking daily activities, measuring heart rate and sleep, showing notifications.
Through the multimedia remote control the watch controls music playback, usable for locating the phone and take photos on the smartphone. The Alcatel OneTouch Watch is backed by a 210mAh battery and has to be charged using the integrated USB embedded into the bands.
