Alcatel (TCL) announced new accessories to complement the new smartphones and tablets line-up announced at this year’s IFA in Berlin. The brand also announced the standalone Alcatel VISION VR headset, Alcatel 360 Camera and the Alcatel MOVE wearable range.
Alcatel VISION VR and 360 Camera
Sporting two 3.8-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED screens, the Alcatel VISION VR is a standalone virtual reality headset with a low 17 milliseconds latency, between 2 – 3 hours comfortable viewing and 120-degree field of view (FOV). It also comes pre-loaded with contents and hardware from Jaunt VR, Magic Interactive Entertainment and Fraunhofer.
The Alcatel 360, on the other hand, is a plug and play camera which allows users capture then preview and share on the smartphones instantly. It is available in two sizes – ball-shaped and rectangular shaped; both with a dual 210-degree fisheye lenses and connects to smartphones via USB.
The Alcatel VISION VR headset will be priced between EUR 499 – EUR 599 while the Alcatel 360 Camera is priced at EUR 99. Both will go on sale later this year.
Alcatel MOVE Wearable and Lifestyle Devices
Alcatel also announced a range of wearables & lifestyle devices for people of all ages. The series comprises of the MOVEBAND, MOVETIME WiFi Watch, MOVETRACK and MOVE Track&Talk.
The MOVEBAND will be sold in a bundle package with Alcatel smartphones and is the brand’s first active bracelet that keeps up with the user’s physical activities and sleeping patterns. It also feeds notifications from the smartphone, comes with a dedicated app and has a charge time less than 2 hours.
The MOVETIME WiFi Watch has all the key features of the MOVEBAND and even more. It tracks physical activity and fitness and sleep patterns, shows notifications and also allows users make and receive calls directly from the wrist. It features an innovative gesture control system and arrives in Dark Grey, Gold and Silver colours.
Don’t lose track of anything with the portable MOVETRACK GPS tracker. It weighs in at 33 grams and can be attached to either a key chain or a luggage. The tracker promises real-time tracking for up to 4 days’ standby time and using a separate app called Virtual Fence, user can get notification info when an item enters or leave a pre-set safe zone.
The kiddies centric MOVE Track&Talk allow parents ensure the safety of their wards. It is equipped with GPS, GSM and Wi-Fi to locate kids within 90 seconds and promises up to four days of battery life. Also, it can store five speed-dial numbers for quick calling and 10 pre-set contacts in case of emergency.
While there is no word on pricing yet, the Alcatel MOVE range will be available in the market starting from the end of September.
