Amazon this week announced New Kindle E-Readers and Fire tablet. The new tablets announced are the Fire HDX 8.9, Fire HD 6, Fire HD 7, Fire HD Kids Edition and the e-readers announced are the updated Kindle and the Kindle Voyage.
Amazon Kindle Fire HD 6
The Fire HD 6 is a Kindle Fire tablet with 6-inch (1280 x 800 pixel) display with a pixel density of 252ppi, powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB internal storage, 2MP rear camera, front 0.3MP camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mono speakers and Slimport enabled USB 2.0.
The Kindle Fire HD 6 tablet measures 169 x 103 x 10.7 mm, weight 290 grams, runs on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 kitkat and has a battery life of about 8 hours plus. The tablet is available in Black, Blue, Magenta, White & Citron colour options at a starting price of $99.
Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7
The Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 has almost the same specs as the Fire HD 6 but sports an increased display. The tablet sports a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display with 216ppi, powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core processor, 8GB/16GB of internal storage, 2MP rear camera, front 0.3MP camera, Bluetooth, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi and Slimport enabled USB 3.0.
The Kindle Fire HD 7 measures 191 x 128 x 10.6 mm, weight 337 grams, runs on Fire OS 4 Sangria and the battery life is expected to last around 8hours. The device is also available in Citron, White, Blue, Black and Magenta colour options at a starting price of $139.
Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 has been given major specs but still retains it is
2560 x 1600 pixels. The device would be available in Wi-Fi Only and 4G LTE + Wi-Fi models at a starting price of $379.
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display with a pixel density – 339 ppi. Under the hood is a 2.5GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU with Adreno 420 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB, 8MP front camera and front 0.3MP camera. Other specs details includes – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Simport enabled USB 2.0, dual standby and also offers 4G LTE support.
Amazon Fire HD Kids Edition
The Amazon Fire HD Kids Edition has basically the same specs as the 6-inch and 7-inch Kindle Fire HD 6 and the Kindle Fire HD 7 respectively. The 6-inch Fire HD kids Edition is available at a starting price of $149 and the 7-inch model at a starting price of $189.
Asides the screen sizes, the slate features a quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, 2MP rear camera, front VGA camera, Dolby digital audio, and also come with a year of Amazon Freetime Unlimited, two years of Guarantee. The slate comes with rubber bumps in a myraid of colour to protect the tablet against bumps and drops.
Amazon Kindle Voyage and New Kindle with Touchscreen
The Amazon Kindle Voyage is the latest in the line of kindle e-readers from the company. The device features a front-lit display, high resolution, a touchscreen display, touch sensors built in the device which allows it turn pages without the user touching the screen.
The Kindle Voyage features a features a 6-inch grayscale display with a pixel density of 300ppi, 4GB of built-in storage, 802.11n WiFi/3G model. The devices comes with a host of features such as adaptive display brightness, Pagepress and more. The battery is expected to last for weeks and is the thinnest kindle ever at just 7.6mm in thickness. The Kindle Voyage costs $199 and the older Kindle Paperwhite is also still available for $119.
The new-entry level Kindle now features a touchscreen display and rocks a processor which is twice faster than the older model. The new kindle features a 6-inch Pearl E Ink display with a pixel density of 167ppi, 4GB of internal storage and 802.11n WiFi. The New Kindle weighs 190 grams, measures 10.2mm in thickness, costs $79 for the model with special offers (with aDs) and costs $99 without the special offer model.
Both the Kindle Voyage and the New Kindle features Kindle Freetime, Goodreads Integration, Whispersync and vocabulary builder. Other features would be available via OTA.
