Amazon Kindle Fire HDX With Snapdragon 805 Spotted In Benchmarks

Amazon is currently in the news due to the release of its first smartphone, the Amazon Fire Phone which was released in June. To complement its smartphone offering, Amazon is looking to release an updated version of its Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. The device has been spotted on AnTuTu benchmark, with a more advanced SoC.

The new Amazon Kindle Fire HDX is expected to be powered by the quad custom core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5GHz with Adreno 420 GPU, 2GB of RAM, Rear facing 8-megapixels  main camera and 1-megapixels front facing camera. It sports a 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS.

The previous version of the tablet featured a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC along with Adreno 330 GPU. Asides the difference in chipset and graphics, most of the specifications is looking set to be the same but we would rule out other changes which the benchmark doesn’t mention.

Until we get to hear an official announcement from Amazon, we cannot ascertain when or how the new version of the Kindle Fire HDX will be available. But we would keep our ears to the ground for more updates on this device when it goes official.
