Amazon China has announced the availability of the Amazon Fire Tablet in China, the budget-friendly slate is available for a price tag of CNY 499 (US$ 78). The company also struck an agreement with Baidu which would see the internet services company provide search, apps, and online video experience on Amazon tablets in China.
Commenting on the launch of the Amazon Fire Tablet in China, Vice President, Amazon Devices, Neil Lindsay said;
“We’ve already sold millions of Fire tablets since launch, and we’re excited to now make it available to customers in China. With millions of readers already using Kindle e-readers in China, we’re excited to now offer another incredibly affordable option, particularly for customers learning to read English. With tools and features like Word Wise and Blue Shade, plus a large selection of Chinese and English content, we think readers will love the new Fire tablet.”
The Amazon Fire Tablet is the fastest-ever selling tablet from the US-based company. The tablet is an easy and affordable option for customers who want to learn and read English. It also gives access to ‘hundreds of thousands’ of Kindle books as well as English language learning features like Word Wise.
The tablet packs a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPS LCD display, quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage space, 2MP main camera and runs Fire OS 5 Bellini which is a forked version of Android. It comes with Amazon app store and a one-of-a-kind app store called Amazon Underground.
