Google has already commenced the Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout for Nexus Phones, the current latest OS was officially available at the company’s Nexus and Chromecast event which took place at the end of last month.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be available Over The Air (OTA) for the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. Users will have to wait for the update to get their region as the update will be in phases and some carriers will get the update latter than the others.

Missing on the list of nexus devices to get the update is the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 10; but as we all know, the two newly announced Nexus phones – the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P already run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.

For those who will love to do a clean install or are simply too impatient to get Marshmallow on their phones, the search giant has posted several factory images for the eligible Nexus phones listed above.

Going with Google,

“Android Marshmallow is the sweetest, smartest Android version yet: Now on Tap serves up assistance when you need it, battery-smart features keep your device going longer, and new app permissions give you even more control.”
