Italian company, MediaCom has announced a new Android Kitkat based Dual SIM smartphone – PhonePad Duo X520. The Mediacom PhonePad Duo X520 comes with a beautiful design, magnesium alloy body (the one used in the aviation industry) , measures 6.9mm thin and keeps a light weight – 123 grams.
The Mediacom PhonePad Duo X520 runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box but will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update by July 2015. The device sports a 5-inch (1280 X 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display, powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion up to 32GB.
The main camera is a 13MP unit which has complimentary glass lenses and sapphire glass. The front camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies and video chats. The camera comes with features such as Beauty Room – used for optimising portraits and Mirror for the women who would like to use their smartphone as a pocket mirror.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, micro USB 2.0 and 3G; Accelerometer, Light Sensor and proximity are the available sensor options. It measures 141.3 mm x 70.6 mm X 6.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 123 grams, supports Dual SIM functionality (Micro SIM + Mini SIM); backed by a 2050mAh Lithium-Ion battery which provides around 918 minutes of talktime, 375 hours of standby time and comes with a inbuilt Battery Saver Manager.
Fitness and health conscious users can also make use of ‘Health’, an application which keeps an eye on physical condition, number of calories burned, heart rate, number of step taken and others.
The Mediacom PhonePad Duo X520 will retail for around 199 Euro in Italy by Mid-May. Gold and Grey are the available colour options.
