Last week, we told you Cherry Mobile teased an Android One smartphone for launch this week. The device in question is the Cherry Mobile G1 and it has gone official today in the Philippines for Php 5999 ($128).
The Cherry Mobile G1 runs the latest version of Android (Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS) and has the advantage of getting software updates directly from Google for the next two years. The device sports a 5-inch IPS display with On-cell LCD technology, a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and Asahi Dragon Trail Glass protection.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot available for expansion up to 32GB.
On the rear, there is a 13MP camera with BSI sensor, Dual LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with BSI sensor for selfies. Connectivity options on the Cherry Mobile G1 includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, microUSB v2.0, and GPS.
The Cherry Mobile G1 Android One smartphone has support for (Dual SIM with Dual Standby) and is backed by a removable 2500mAh Lithium ion battery.
