At the CES 2015 earlier this year in Las Vegas, three former Google Senior Engineers under the umbrella of Jide Technology teamed up to announce the Jide Remix tablet (Jide Ultra Remix Tablet). The tablet runs Remix OS, has a kickstand like the Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft and comes with a kickstand to make it double as a laptop & screen cover. The tablet is now available in China and is getting ready to sell it around the world.
The company has launched a kicstarter program which would see the tablet launch in Most European countries, Australia, UK, Canada and US. It is expected to cost $349 and shipping would start in May but the first 355 backers would get it for just $39 which would allow them recieve feedback from users on their Android Kitkat based Remix OS.
When one first views the Jide Remix tablet, what comes to mind is the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (maybe it was modelled after it). It sports a 11.6-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution display, powered by a quad-core 1.8 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 processor with GeForce ULP 72 Tegra GPU, 64GB space of internal storage and 2GB of RAM.
The tablet has a detachable keyboard, a Kickstand, Front and Rear 5MP camera, a microSD card slot, microphones and is backed by a 8100mAh battery. As mentioned earlier, the device runs on Remix OS which is based on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS but would be upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS soon. The OS bring features such as taskbar, multi-window support and file manager.
