Apple has announced a refreshed Macbook which would take the title of being the smallest laptop from the company; it has a bigger display but a smaller body size and a single reversible USB Type-C port. All Macbooks comes with OS X Yosemite which is a more powerful version of OS X.
The 12-inch Macbook measures 13.1mm in thinness which has seen numerous ports on the laptop sacrificed. It sports a 12-inch 2304 x 1440 pixels resolution Retina Display with 16:10 aspect ratio; powered by fifth-generation Intel Core M processor that runs at just 5 watts and Intel HD Graphics 530; weighs 907grams (2lbs) and comes with a single Reversible Type-C port which would serve both charging and connectivity functions.
The new Macbook has an all metal body, fanless design and it’s battery life is tipped to provide 9 hours of wireless web surfing and 10 hours of movie playback. The keyboard and the trackpad has been redesigned also. Connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0.
The 12-inch Macbook is available in three colour options – Space Grey, Silver and Gold colours. The base model sports 1.1Ghz processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage – it costs $1299; while the more spec(ed) up model sports 1.2GHz processor with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage – it costs $1599.
The company is also offering a USB-C multipart adapter which brings more slots to the new Macbook. The adpater is offered in two solutions – one model with VGA display port and the other with HDMI; the other two ports are the USB-C and USB 3.1. This adpater costs around $79.
The new Apple Macbook would launch on April 10.
