Cupertino Giant, Apple has announced a brand new iMac with 5K Retina display; the first desktop PC to feature a 5K display. The highlight of the device has to be its 27-inch display and a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels. With the screen resolution the new iMac has pixel amounting to 14.7 million – 67% more pixels than that seen on the 4K Ultra HD display and 7 times more pixels seen on a 1080p display.
The entry-level iMac with 5K Retina display features a 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5, AMD Radeon R9 M290X GPU, 2GB of GDDR5 memory, 8GB of RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive and a whooping starting price tag of $2499.
For the upgraded iMac with 5K Retina Display, it features a 4 GHz Intel Core i7, AMD Radeon R9 M295X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, 32GB of RAM, 3TB Fusion Drive or 1TB SSD and a hefty price tag.
Connectivity options on the device includes – 3.5mm audio jack, SDXC card slot, two USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, and 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet.
The Base model starts at $2499 while the configured model would come with a higher price tag. It is available online from Apple starting today.
