Apple iPhone 5s 8GB storage version tipped for December launch

The base model of most iPhones has 16GB of internal storage with no microSD card slot of course. Apple is expected to launch a new variant of the Apple iPhone 5s with just 8GB space of internal storage to suit the emerging markets.

When Apple launched the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the plastic body iPhone 5C was discontinued but the iPhone 5s is still very much around. It is highly unlikely Apple will ever make a 4″ display iPhone considering the display of the new iPhones (iPhone 6s – 5″ and iPhone 6s Plus – 5.5″); the 5s is possibly the last iPhone with a 4″ display.

The Apple iPhone 5s 8GB storage version will replace the void left by the discontinued iPhone 5C and would be targeted at countries in emerging markets including China and India where midrange devices sellout frequently. The device currently costs $450 for the 16GB version and $499 for the 32GB version.

There is no word on pricing yet but the device should be priced lesser than the iPhone 5s 16GB. Asides the inclusion of iOS 9 and a smaller 8GB storage, the Apple iPhone 5s 8GB should have the same specs as the original.

Potentially, the specs includes a 64-bit Apple A7 processor with M7 motion co-processor, rear facing 8MP iSight camera and TouchID embedded into the home button. There is no official word on the existence of this device, we will let you know if something concrete pops up.
