Starting from the beginning of the year we have been seeing different flagship devices from Recognised companies as well as fast rising chinese OEMs but the list wouldn’t haven’t have been completed with the highly anticipated new smartphones from Apple.
Despite different rumours surrounding the release of the iPhone 6, Apple kept mum until September 9th when it unveiled the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus as well as the Apple Watch and Apple Pay.

Comparison Between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus
Taking a closer look at the announced smartphones, both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus look alike in terms of design and some features. In Comparison, both devices feature the Same Apple A8 chipset with M8 motion coprocessor, TouchID fingerprint sensor, NFC, 8MP iSight Camera, front facing 1.2MP camera. Finally in the comparison category – they both support 4G LTE connectivity, run iOS 8 and come in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants.
Differences Between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus
Display
Moving to the difference between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus; starting from the display – the former features a 4.7-inch LED backlit (1334 x 720 pixels) Retina HD display with a pixel density of 326ppi while the latter sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Retina HD display with a pixel density of 401ppi.
The iPhone 6 falls in the smartphone category while the iPhone 6 falls in the phablet category with its display size.
Camera
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus both sport a 8MP rear iSight camera with True Tone flash and f/2.2 aperture; but the iPhone 6 Plus also comes with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation).
Battery
The exact battery capacity was not revealed but the iPhone 6 offers up to 14 hours of talktime on 3G, 250 hours on Standby time while the iPhone 6 Plus offers 24 hours of talktime on 3G , 384 hours on standby time.
Pricing
Another main difference obviously is the pricing aspect, the prices varies according to the storage capacity:
• on a two year contract the iPhone 6 is available for $199 (16GB), $299 (64GB), $399 (128GB); the iPhone 6 Plus $299 (16GB), $399 (64GB) and $499 (128GB).
• Off contract the iPhone 6 costs – $649 (16GB), $749 (64GB) & $849 (128GB); the iPhone 6 Plus costs – $749 (16GB), $849 (64GB) & $949 (128GB).
Judging from the released pricing price, the iPhone 6 could cost between N105,000 and N140,000 in Naira and the iPhone 6 Plus could cost between N122,000 and N155,000 in Naira. Both devices go on sale in select countries starting on September 17th; for those awaiting the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in Nigeria; there is no specific availability date yet but keep refreshing the site as we will bring more information on its availability later.
