Alongside the iPhone X, Apple announced two of 2017’s most anticipated smartphones, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The duo are the direct successors to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus but retain the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina HD displays with 3D Touch and are powered by the new A11 Bionic chip.
Both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus feature a mix of glass and aluminium body design, and support both Qi wireless and fast charging. They are also equipped with dual stereo speakers, front 7MP camera with Retina Flash, IP68 rating, TouchID fingerprint sensor, and 64GB or 256GB storage options.
The iPhone 8 Plus is equipped with dual rear cameras: 12MP (f/1.8) wide-angle + 12MP (f/2.8) telephoto with OIS, Quad-LED true tone flash, 2x Optical zoom, 10x Digital zoom and 4K video recording. The iPhone 8, on the other hand, has a single 12MP rear camera (f/1.8) with OIS, Quad-LED True Tone flash and 4K video recording.
The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be available in Gold, Silver and Space Grey colours. They will go on pre-order in several countries of the world starting September 15th and will go on sale a week later on September 22nd. Pricing for the starts at $699 and $799 for the 64GB storage model.
