Apple ‘Move to iOS’ app now live on Play Store

Listed on the iOS 9 feature page in June, Apple has officially released the Move to iOS app for Android. The app which helps users switch from Android OS to iOS (iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch) is already live on … you guessed right … Google’s Play Store and of course, it is free to download.

The Apple Move to iOS app doesn’t necessarily convince Android users to jump ship, it however aids those with their minds made up to make the switch. The app wirelessly transfers user’s informations such as photos, videos, calender, contacts, email accounts, message history and web bookmarks.

Once the app is installed and launched on Android device, a 10-digit code shows up on the iOS device which has to be inputed on the Android device to start the transfer. The transfer of information between both devices is done via a private Wi-Fi network set up by the iOS device so no data cost or Wi-Fi charges are incurred in the process.

If you closely check the Apple Move to iOS app on Play Store, it has been seeing negative reviews and initially struggled to gain good ratings. The lack of rating doesn’t necessarily reflect the usefulness of the app, rather it is Android loyalist venting their anger on Apple and its Products.

The app is compatible with devices running Android 4.0 OS or later.
