Apple is expected to debut the Apple Watch in April; this was confirmed in a call conference with the Apple CEO, Tim Cook when the company’s record breaking financial quarterly results were announced last month.
According to Wall Street Journal, Apple has ordered more than 5 million units of the Apple Watch from its suppliers in China ahead of the April Retail date.
Between 5 million and 6 million units have been ordered for the three versions of the watch – Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. All models are available in 38mm and 42mm sizes and all have Sapphire Crystal displays.
The entry-level Apple Watch sport will account for 50% of the order (about half), the middle tier Apple Watch would account for One-third (33.3%) and the Apple Watch Edition would account for the remaining One-Sixth (16.7%). Demands for the Apple Watch is expected to be high and the company has been reportedly installing safes in its retail outlets to protect the watch.
While many have fell for the so many features of the watch, the final version of the apple Watch is expected to lack some earlier mentioned features such as Blood Pressure Monitoring and stress tracking functions. These can be attributed to several troubles over government regulations, failure of suppliers to meet up with Apple’s standard and over-complicated ideas let to the final version of the Apple Watch lacking some mentioned features.
