Apple Pay to Roll-Out on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on October 20

In agreement with previous leaks, Apple has announced the Apple Pay would roll out on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus on Monday, October 20th. The announcement was made before the cupertino based company announced the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 2.

The Apple Pay digital wallet which was unveiled in September lets users store credit card details locally on the device with a Device Account Number assigned to each smartphone. Apple has tied with American Express, Master Card and Visa for the Apple Pay allowing users to save credit card accounts on their iPhone. Stored details can then be used to make payments using TouchID to authenticate and NFC to transmit the data.

Apple Pay is compatible with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus; users of older iPhone models will only be able touse this feature when the Apple Watch debuts in early 2015.

The company has announced that 500 banks have been signed and supports would roll out later this year or early next year. Apple has also enlisted a number of retailers to support the digital wallet. Disney, UBER, Groupon, OpenTable, Starbucks, Levis, Macy’s, Subway, Whole foods are among numerous retailers to support Apple Pay.
