Apple released the final build of the Apple iOS 8.2 firmware update; the OS has been in the works for several months. The iOS 8.2 with build number 12D508 introduces support for Apple Watch, several improvements to the Health app, increased stability and bug fixes.
The biggest feature on the update has to be the support for Apple Watch; it would work with iPhone 5 and models which are ahead of it but will not works with iPods and iPads. There are other reason to get the new update too – such as the Homekit, Health app which includes the newly released ResearchKit initiative and a long list of stability and bux fixes. Where to get the update and Devices Eligible
The update is available via iTunes or Over-The-Air (OTA) update for devices running iOS 8 as well as Apple iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus; five generation iPod Touch and all iPads except the first generation models.
How to Get the Update
The process of getting the update is almost automatic and users will be prompted when the iOS 8.2 Firmware update is available. But if you want to be one of the first set of people to install the OS, you can use this method.
Open your device and go to: Settings > General > Software Update. This will perform a manual check for the update. Note you will need to have at least 50% battery capacity before an update will be allowed to install.
Apple is also said to be working on releasing Beta versions of the iOS 8.3 which sources confirm is already in testing stages. This new update is said to bring Apple’s new Beats-based iTunes Music streaming service and could be available in few months time.
