Along with the new Apple iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, the Cupertino-based company also announced the Apple Watch Series 4. The new model retains the same shape as its predecessor, however, it has been redesigned and re-engineered to help users stays connected.
The Apple Watch Series 4 fits a 30% larger curved display and now comes in 40mm and 44mm watch sizes. The Digital Crown has been re-engineered to include haptic feedback and a new loud speaker has been included on the left side for better sound quality.

This year’s key feature is the addition of electrical heart rate sensor than can take an Electrocardiogram (ECG) i.e measure the electrical activity of the heart using the new FDA-approved ECG app. It also adds accelerometer and gyroscope sensors for detecting falls and the regular optical heart rate sensor is still on-board.

The smartwatch is powered by the new next-gen S4 chip with a custom 64-bit dual-core processor, which doubles the speed seen on the Watch Series 3 but maintains the same all day battery life. It boots the new watchOS 5.0 which promises a smarter Siri, auto workout detection, improved notifications and walkie talkie feature.
The Sports variants of the Apple Watch Series 4 will arrive in Gold, Silver and Space Gray, while the more expensive Stainless steel variants arrive in Black, Gold and Silver colours. There are also a number of Nike+ and Hermes collaboration as well as breathing watch faces to take advantage of the bigger display.
Apple is making the Watch Series 4 available in GPS-only and GPS + Cellular models. The GPS-only model starts at US$ 399 and will be available to pre-order beginning September 14 in 26 countries and territories. The GPS + Cellular model will start at US$ 499 and open for pre-order the same date in 16 countries and territories. Both models will hit the stores on September 21.
