Apple WWDC 2018 Scheduled for June 4

Apple has announced the dates for the 29th edition of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The Apple WWDC 2018 is scheduled to run from June 4th through June 8th in San Jose, California for the second year in a row at the McEnery Convention Center.

Last year’s WWDC saw the launch of a new iMac Pro, iOS 11, a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4, and ARKit. At the WWDC 2018, Apple will as expected engage with developers on how to create experiences for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac and HomePod.

The Cupertino giant will also announce new releases for its four software paltforms – iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. According to various sources, Apple is expected to showcase the iOS 12 and macOS 10.14 along with watchOS 5 and tvOS 12.

On the iOS 12, Apple will reportedly focus more on stability and performance improvements over new features while the new macOS could add support for cross platform apps. On the hardware side, various sources suggest Apple is working on new iPad Pros with smaller bezels, no home button and Face ID support. There are also talks of new additions to the Mac family, including a new 12-inch Macbook

Developers can register for tickets from now until March 22 at 10AM PDT (6PM WAT) on the WWDC website, and tickets will be issued through random selection by March 23. Those unable to attend, can live-stream the conference on the WWDC app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV as well as through the Apple Developer website.
