Along with the announcement of iOS 9, Apple also released an Android app – ‘Move to iOS’. Thought the app wasn’t detailed at the presentation, it is expected to help Android users migrate to iOS.
The ‘Move to iOS’ feature is listed on the iOS 9 feature page and the app basically helps users wirelesly (and securely) transfer their informations – such as camera photos, contacts, Web bookmarks, mail accounts, videos, calenders, wallpapers, DRM-Free song and books.
The app will also help with smooth transition to your new iPhone, it would help in re-building the app library. Free apps enjoyed on Android, the equivalent free app would be suggested at the App store while paid apps the Android user was using before would be suggested in the user’s iTunes Wish List.
This app along doesn’t convince users to jump ship in any form to the rival OS, however those sceptical to switch because of having to lose some data associated with changing devices would have a rethink. This move can confirm Apple is banking on iOS 9 to usher in more Droid loyalist however some of the new features announced are already available on Android already.
Android Users can also recycle your Android device at any Apple Store once the transfer is over. The user would be given credits towards the purchase of an iOS device. The Move to iOS app would debut the same time as the Apple’s new mobile OS – iOS 9 around September and would be downloaded from the Google Play Store and App Store.
