Archos 50d Helium 4G with Snapdragon 410 SoC and Android 5.1 Lollipop, costs $129

Archos has taken the wraps off the Archos 50d Helium 4G smartphone; just months after announcing the 50 Helium Plus and the 55 Helium Plus smartphones. While the latter smartphones come with MediaTek processors, the 50d Helium 4G would be powered by a Qualcomm processor.

The Archos 50d Helium 4G features a 5-inch IPS display with Full Black Lamination and a resolution of 1280x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM. 

8GB space of internal storage is available for files and if it is not enough, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 64GB). On the rear, there is a 13MP camera with LED flash, capable of recording 1080p videos and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video chats.

Connectivity options on the Archos 50d Helium 4G includes – micro USB v2.0, Bluetooth with smart ready, GPS/AGPS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4).

It measures 146 x 72.2 x 8.4mm in dimensions, weighs 154 grams, comes with Dual SIM slots, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2100mAh Li-ion battery which provides 160 hours of standby time, 8 hours of talk time and 4.6 hours of video playback.

The Archos 50d Helium 4G costs $129 unlocked, it would be available in the US and Europe later this month. The company is also making two interchangeable back cases in Stone Grey and Storm Blue colours.
