Ahead of the IFA 2016 in Berlin, ARCHOS has announced new smartphones which will be showcased at the event starting next week. The Archos 50f Helium and 50f Helium Lite are part of the new entry-level line-up announced and they will all go on sale this October for a price range from £80 – £100.
Running the ‘purest form’ of Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box; the ARCHOS 50f Helium packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage space, Dual SIM slots and 2000mAh Battery with Qualcomm Quick charge.
Handling photography are, a front 2 MP selfie camera and a rear placed 8 MP AF camera with LED flash. There is also a rear placed fingerprint sensor which is a rare sight for devices with this price range outside China. It has full access to the Google Play store, supports 4G LTE networks, packs a microSD card slot and is priced at £99.90 ($131).
The company also released the ARCHOS 50f Helium Lite, a toned down model of the aforementioned 50f Helium. It is priced even more affordably at £79.90 ($105) and comes with just 1GB of RAM and 8 / 16GB built-in storage space.
