The pre IFA 2016 splash by French manufacturer, Archos continues with the announcement of the Archos 55 Diamond Selfie. The new selfie centric device will be showcased along with the Archos (50f and 55) Helium series devices and the waterproof Archos 50 Saphir.
As the name suggests, Archos 55 Diamond Selfie is targeted at the Selfie loving users but obviously no Diamonds in sight. The front 8MP camera with Screen Flash handles this task and is aided by features such as ChromaFlash, OptiZoom and UbiFocus. The main snapper is the rear placed16MP camera with AutoFocus and LED flash.
Also running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box, the device sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display with DragonTrail glass protection and backed by a 3000mAh battery (non-removable). It measures 155 x 76.6 x 7.7 mm in dimensions and weighs 184 grams.
Under the hood, the 55 Diamond Selfie is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) processor clocked at 1.4GHz along with Adreno 505 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space. The rest of the specs includes fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE (Cat.4) and USB OTG.
Archos 55 Diamond Selfie will go on sale in September for a price tag of £199.99/€229. Also, those looking for a more cheaper option can opt for the Archos 55 Diamond Selfie Lite with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space for £169.90/€209.99.
