Archos 94 Magnus Tablet With 256GB Internal Storage won’t be seeing a market release

Archos has announced that the Archos 94 Magnus tablet has been cancelled thus it won’t be seeing a market release. The company gained more traction for the slate when it was unveiled at the MWC 2015 with 256GB space of internal storage.

According to digitalversus, Archos has confirmed that the distribution is not interested in that type of product due to its delicate pricing. The french company wanted the tablet to sell for €299 but the price could have risen to about €350. At this price tag there are better tablet with lesser storage space, but better CPU, RAM and display.

The Archos 94 Magnus tablet when it was announced features a 9.4-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a quad-core RockShip RK3288 processor clocked at 2GHz  with 1.5GB of RAM and a battery life of 6400mAh. While the specs of the tablet is not too impressive, the 256GB space of internal storage is the highlight.

Those who prefer local storage to Cloud computing would love a tablet like this while those who want better specs and a much more reduced internals storage space (at least 16GB space) would have to look elsewhere.

How Archos intends to dispose off the already available units of the tablet is still unknown; but don’t rule out the company still getting back into the mix with the tablet maybe once a better distribution technique can be reached. But that is very unlikely for now.
