Ahead of the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Archos has announced a line up of smartphones, tablets and connected objects it would display at the event. The devices in question are the Archos 50b Platinum and 45c Platinum Android smartphones; Archos 101 Oxygen Android tablet, Archos 40 Cesium WP 8 smartphone and the 80 Cesium Windows 8.1 tablet. Also announced are Archos Weather Station, Archos Music Light and Archos Music Beany.
The Archos 50b Platinum is a dual-SIM android smartphone. It features a 5-inch qHD IPS display, powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 with Mali-400MP2 GPU and 512MB RAM. There is a 4GB of inbuilt storage as well as an additional 8GB microSD card for storage expansion. Other specs includes – 8MP autofocus main camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera, 1900mAh Li-Po battery, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
The Archos 50b Platinum is available for £119/$198 and will launch in three colour variants by September.
The Archos 45c Platinum is a smaller variant of the 50b platinum, if sports a 4.55-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display, powered a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt expandable storage. It also has a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera. It offers Dual-SIM functionality, a 1700mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
The Archos 45c Platinum is available for £99/$164 also in three colour options by September.
The Archos 101 Oxygen Android tablet has very litttle details available. The device is powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex A17 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 10.1-inch 1080p display and Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. The device would be available for £199/$330 in October.
Going on to the Windows phone and tablet from Archos, both running Windows 8.1 and WP 8.1. The Archos 40 Cesium smartphone features a 4-inch display, powered by a Qualcomm snapdragon 200 processor and runs Windows Phone 8.1. The device would be available in Yellow, Blue and Black colours for a price of £80/$130 in September.
The ARCHOS 80 Cesium Windows 8.1 Tablet features a 8-inch (1280×800 pixels) IPS screen, powered by quad-core Intel processor. It would be available in October for 129 GBP/$214.
Archos is also announcing the Archos Weather Station, Music light and Music Beany under the connected objects category. The Archos Weather Station was announced at the CES 2014 earlier this year.
The Archos Weather Station detects and measures humidity, temperature, Air quality both indoors and outdoor thruogh sensors. The devices connects over Bluetooth to Android and iOS devices and is available for £99/$164 in September.
The Archos Music Lightis a lamp that streams music from a tablet or smartphone over bluetooth; compatible with iOS, Android and. Windows devices. Available for £49/81 in September. And finally the Archos Music Beany, combines both benefits of a beany and a headphone. It also connects to iOS, Windows and Android devices through Bluetooth and available for £29/$48.
