Ahead of the MWC 2016, Archos has announced the Archos Diamond 2 Plus smartphone with impressive specs and a fingerprint sensor. The company will show off the device at the MWC and it will go on sale by May for a price tag of £199.
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box,the Archos Diamond 2 Plus sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved screen and a pixel density of 400ppi. It has Hybrid Dual SIM slots, measures 148.3 x 73.8 x 8.3 mm in dimensions and weighs 130 grams.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6755 processor (Helio P10) with Mali-T860 MP2 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage space, a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB) and backed by a removable 3000mAh Li-ion battery with fast charging.
In the camera aspect, there is a front facing 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony Sensor, Laser AutoFocus, f/2.2 aperture and Dual LED flash. The Archos Diamond 2 Plus has a fingerprint scanner below the main camera; supports 2G, 3G & 4G (LTE Cat.6) networks and uses the micro-USB Type-C port.
