Archos Diamond Plus debuts with FHD screen, Mediatek MT6753 and Android 5.1

Archos has announced a new smartphone in the Diamond series line – the Archos Diamond Plus. The device follows the recently announced Archos Diamond S and Archos Diamond Tab in the same series line.

The Archos Diamond Plus features a 5.5-inch Fully Laminated IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD). Under the hood, an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the device along with Mali T720 MP3 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage.

On the back, there is a 16MP camera with 5-element lens and LED flash, the front camera is a 8MP snapper with wide angle lens and for additional storage there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.

Connectivity options on the Archos Diamond Plus includes – 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. Measuring 152.6 x 76.4 x 8.4mm in dimensions and weighing 179 grams, the device has Dual SIM support with Dual Standby, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2850mAh battery. 

The archos Diamond Plus would be showcased at the company’s booth at the IFA 2015 Event on September 4 and it would go on sale in November for £180 (€229) price tag.
