Archos Diamond S announced with HD Super AMOLED Screen, 16MP main camera and 4G LTE

Ahead of the IFA 2015, Archos has officially announced the Archos Diamond S; the beautifully crafted 5-inch midrange smartphone is priced at €200 or £160. The device would be showcased at the IFA and sales would start physically in stores in European markets starting November. 

The Archos Diamond S features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) with a pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with ARM Mali-T720 MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. 

Internal storage space stands at 16GB and there is a microSD card slot for additional storage if needed. On the back, there is a 16 Autofocus Megapixels main camera with LED flash and a front facing 8 Megapixels camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. 

Measuring 152.6 x 76.4 x 8.4 mm in dimensions and weighing 118 grams in size, the Archos Diamond S supports Dual Micro SIM slots with Dual Standby, runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and is backed by a 2300mAh battery which has fast charging features.
