Archos today announced the Archos 50 Diamond, an Android smartphone with high-end specs which is quite unlike the company. The device would feature Dual-SIM functionality and 4G LTE support.
The Archos 50 Diamond features a 5.0-inch IPS display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) and a pixel density of 440ppi. under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB.
For photography, there is a rear facing 16-megapixels autofocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 8-megapixels camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device including the its 4G LTE Cat.4, microSD USB 2.0, GPS with Galilleo, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, and Wi-Fi Direct.
The Archos 50 Diamond measures 146 x 70.4 x 8mm in dimensions, weighs in at 14x grams, has Dual-SIM functionality and runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box. the device is backed by a 2700 mAh battery and comes with support for wireless charging. it is available for has price tag of EUR 199.99 and disappointingly would be available by early 2015.
