Archos announces Sense 55s and Sense 50x with Android Nougat OS

Along with the new Diamond smartphones (Alpha & Gamma) smartphones, Archos also announced two new smartphones in the Sense series – the Archos Sense 55s and Archos Sense 50x. The former follows the bezelless screen approach just like the Xiaomi Mi MIX while the latter is a rugged device.

Archos Sense 55s

Pre-installed with Android Nougat OS, the Archos Sense 55s sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with takes 78% of the screen and a 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) resolution. It packs a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD), 4G LTE support and a 3,000mAh battery which lasts about a whole day of usage.

The device also features a dual camera setup – 2x 8MP cameras and a fingerprint scanner. It is priced at EUR 249.

Archos Sense 50x

Similar to most rugged smartphones around, the Archos Sense 50x is IP68 certified (i.e dust-proof & waterproof) and resistant to drops from 1 meter and water submersion (up to 30 mins). It also resistant to scratches (Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection) and can be used in temperatures from -20C° to +55C°.

It has a moderate 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) resolution, 3GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 1.5GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6737T  processor, 8MP rear camera, front 3MP camera and a 3,500mAh battery. It also boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS and will arrive in mid-July for EUR 169.
