You will have to admit to the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9 has been the most talked about smartphone expected at the MWC starting tomorrow. However we won’t only see flagship devices, we would also see the mid-range and budget smartphones too. Archos has announced it would be showcasing four smartphones at the MWC 2015 – the Super-slim Archos 50 Oxygen Plus; multimedia focused Archos 52 Platinum, Archos 59 Xenon, and Archos 62 Xenon are all expected to go official at the event.
The Archos 50 Oxygen Plus features a 5-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, 8MP main camera, 5MP front camera, a microSD card slot and 2000mAh battery.
The 3G version runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and is available starting March for $199. The 4G LTE version runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is expected around June for an unknown price.
The Archos 52 Platinum, Archos 59 Xenon and Archos 62 Xenon all sport HD resolution display with different screen sizes, battery and price range – 5.25-inch display, $158, 1750mAh battery; 5.9-inch display, $145, 2500mAh; and 6.2-inch display, $170, 2300mAh respectively.
All three smartphones support 3G connectivity (including HSPA+), run Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 128GB) and all sport a 8MP main camera. The Archos 52 Platinum and 59 Xenon sport a front 2MP camera while the Archos 62 Xenon uses a 5MP front camera.
Although most people would be quick to point to the Moto E (2nd Gen) or the Moto G (2nd Gen) as better options. These smartphone offering from Archos will address the needs of those with very few bucks to throw around.
