ASUS launches Zenfone Series smartphones in Nigeria

ASUS officially launched the Zenfone Series Smartphones in Nigeria at an event on the 4th of December, 2015 at an event in Lagos. The phones announced are the Asus Zenfone Selfie, Asus Zenfone Laser, Asus ZenFone GO and the Asus Zenfone C. All four devices will be available through online and offline mediums – Genuss, Jumia, Konga, Onyx Park N Shop and Slot.

Commenting at the launch of the Zenfone Series Smartphones in Nigeria, ASUS Nigeria Country Product Manager, Simplice Zaongo said:

“We are very excited to bring our latest ZenFone family to the Nigerian market. These brand-new innovations are each an empowering luxury that strikes the perfect balance of beauty, functionality and performance, and especially offers Nigerian consumers a comprehensive camera experience via both hardware and software.”

Asus Zenfone Selfie

With a RRP of NGN 54,990, the Asus Zenfone Selfie ZD551KL is the most expensive of the quartet and like the name suggests, it is one for the selfie and camera lovers. It sports a front and rear facing 13MP PixelMaster cameras with Dual-color Dual-LED Real Tone flash and Laser AutoFocus.

Asides the camera features which takes the center stage, the device has almost the same specs as the Asus Zenfone 2 with a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, Dual SIM slots, runs Android Lollipop OS with ZenUI and supports LTE connectivity.

Asus Zenfone Laser

The Asus Zenfone Laser ZE550KL has the same main camera features as the Zenfone Selfie with a 13MP PixelMaster camera with 0.03s Laser AutoFocus, f/2.0 aperture, and Dual-color Dual-LED Real Tone Flash. The location of the buttons are also on the back like the aforementioned device.

The device has a 5.5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM and runs Android Lollipop OS with ZenUI ontop. It supports LTE connectivity, packs a 3000mAh battery and is priced at NGN 46,990.

Asus Zenfone Go

The Asus Zenfone Go ZC500TG sports a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display and takes the honour of being the first Zenfone series device to use a Mediatek processor – the MT6582 SoC. It has Dual SIM slots, supports 2G & 3G networks, 2GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage and 100GB of free Google Drive cloud storage is available for two years. It has a RRP of NGN 24,990.

Asus Zenfone C

The Asus Zenfone C ZC451TG is the cheapest of the quartet with a price of NGN 19,490 and the specs tells us why. It sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in expandable storage, 5MP main camera, 0.3MP front camera, backed by a 2160mAh battery and runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
