Asus has officially announced a new smartphone in Brazil – the Asus Live (G500TG). The device comes with everything the Asus Zenfone Go has to offer in a new body design and support for built-in Digital HD TV in FullSeg standard which has the ability to produce images up to 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s Zen UI ontop, the Asus Live G500TG sports a 5-inch IPS LCD display with (1280 x 720 pixels) HD screen resolution and a pixel density of 294 ppi. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM.
The device has 16GB built-in storage space, a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB and 100GB Google Drive cloud storage space for two years. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 2MP camera for video calls & selfies; and a rear facing 8MP caamera with PixelMaster technology.
Connectivity options on the ASUS Live includes – 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It weighs 140 grams, measures 144.5 x 71 x 9.98 mm in dimensions and is backed by a 2070mAh battery. Also, the device has the rear buttons on the side unlike most Zenfone devices.
Commenting on the launch, Marketing Director of ASUS Brazil, Marcel Campos said;
“The ASUS Live further complements our smartphone portfolio in the Brazilian market with an offer with integrated digital TV. The model arrives in Brazil costing R $ 849 – R $ 50 higher than what is charged by Zenfone Go and will be available at retail in the following color options: Black with Blue side, White with Yellow and Black side to side Magenta”.
