The end has come for the ASUS Nexus 7 tablet (2013) model; the device is now listed as ‘no longer available for purchase’ on Google store. The 2013 model of the Asus Nexus 7 which was announced around July 2013 now leaves the HTC Nexus 9 as the only surviving Nexus tablet from Google.
Looking back at the Asus Nexus 7 (2013); it sports a 7-inch 1920 X 1200 pixels IPS LCD display (323ppi) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it is quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor with Adreno 302 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB space of internal storage.
Other specs details includes – 5MP rear camera, front 1.2MP camera, micro USB 2.0, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI, Slimport, 3G HSPA/4G LTE, NFC, GPS and is backed by a 3950mAh battery which supports Qi Wireless charging. It measures 200 x 114 x 8.65 mm in dimensions, weighs 299 grams (LTE)/290 grams (Wi-Fi) and has recieved the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update (ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Os when it launched).
The Asus Nexus 7 (2013) had already been discontinued by T-Mobile and Verizon in the US. However the device could still be found in stores which might have some units left… till stock lasts though.
