In coming weeks, ASUS has plans to launch the Asus PadFone S and the PadStation dock in Malaysia. The device comes with a lesser price tag than its predecessor at RM899 / $275 (N46,000 in Naira) and the PadStation dock will cost RM499 / $175 (N29,000 in Naira) bring the cost closer to the $450 mark.
ASUS PadFone S and PadStation, the Tablet docking station
The ASUS PadFone series offers a seamless phone and tablet solution. The PadFone S features a 5-inch (1920 × 1080) Full HD display, powered by a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.
The ASUS PadFone S sports a 13MP f/2.0 camera with PixelMaster technology and a front 2MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WI-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with ZenUI ontop and a 2300mAh keeps the device ticking.
For a bigger experience, the PadStation bring the PadFone S a 9-inch display (1920 x 1200 pixels) and also charges the device when the smartphone is docked. The PadStation features a 9-inch WUXGA display, 4990mAh battery and a 1MP front camera.
With the device expected to debut in Malaysia in coming week with the Black colour option and White Colour option following suit. There is no official word on global availability at the moment.
