Asus PadFone S2 Specs Tipped; Snapdragon 820 SoC and March 2016 Launch Date

Asus is said to working on a new PadFone device – the Asus PadFone S2 – the successor to the PadFone S and the PadFone S Plus. The company’s PadFone smartphone series can also be used as a tablet device with a tablet dock packed along; the upcoming PadFone S2 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset.

According to leaksfly, the Asus PadFone S2 will sport a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD), paired with 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB space of internal storage. Under the hood, it would be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and have the Adreno 530 GPU.

On the rear, there would be a 20.7MP camera and on the front there is a 8MP snapper for selfies. The PadFone S2 is backed by a 3060mAh battery. The tablet dock included is said to come with a 10-inch display and has a battery capacity of 5100mAh.

There is no official confirmation of the device yet but a launch date is reportedly scheduled for March 2016, the same duration where other smartphones reportedly using the SD 820 SoC will be released into the market.

Till then we expect more leaks and rumours to trickle out and maybe some hands-on images too.
