Asus Pegasus X002 goes official for $130

Asus is a very prominent Taiwanese company and the company according to its official page say it’s name is derived from the Greek Myth Winged horse – Pegasus. The flying horse is known for wisdom and knowledge.

Asus has decided to transfer that wisdom and knowledge into its newly announced Asus Pegasus X002. From its name you would have thought the device is high-end smartphone; Alas it is a mid-range smartphone and it is said to be the Xiaomi Redmi 1S killer.

Specs-wise the Asus Pegasus features a d-inch 720 x 1280 pixels display, a 64-bit 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6732 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD ccrd slot. On the rear is a 8MP rear camera and a front facing 5MP camera.

The device is said to support Dual SIM slots, supports 4G LTE with standard connectivity suite including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The Asus Pegasus runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with Zen UI ontop and packs a 2500mAh battery. It is available for $130 (¥799) and pre-order starts today.

The Asus pegasus is seen as a direct rival to the Xiaomi Redmi 1S but the company has not announced plans of the device outside China. The Redmi 1S is already popular in and outside of China; much is yet to be seen how the Pegasus competes with Xiaomi’s own offering.
